Always being tired

Posted in Group:

It seems like I feel tired most of the time even though I get plenty of sleep , eat a good diet and my bloodwork is fine. I have had OA for over 20 years (I'm now 47). My friends and family don't seem to really "get it". I mean at times they do, but, sometimes I get the feeling that they think I am faking it or just depressed. Yes I know depression can go hand in hand with chronic oa. I have already had both knees replaced and have been told that in the next 10 years that my shoulders and possibly my hips are next. That's enough to depress anybody! But my job is in retail and requires me to be on my feet for 45 - 60 hours a week. I can't change jobs b/c I really need to stay where I am due to the great health insurance and I actually like my job. Has anybody else ever felt like this?

I think anyone would be tired being on their feet for 40-60 hours a week! I don't know if your friends are simply unsupportive or they are of the mind if you don't talk about it, it isn't there. I would simply say to your friend and family if they say something like this again, I hope you will never know how I feel on a daily basis, because you couldn't even begin to picture how this feels, I wish I was making this up!

It may be a bit of a wake up call for them, or at the very least you may feel better saying it!
